Thanks to Tami and Ronda of Scrapping Sisters for this beautiful kit! What a beautiful color scheme of blues, creams, and browns! I was super excited when I saw it!

Of course, my layout only shows a FRACTION of what's in their kit, called "Serendipity". This is is huge with 22 papers and 102 embellishments! So what you see here doesn't do this kit justice!

Alright. So I've been a little slow with updating how I do my layouts and how they look on your blog. Yes, I know I need to make labels and folders of the different kinds of layouts I have to make easier access to all as well as different labels of all the kit designers so it's easier for you to pick out your favorites as well! Can you say lack of motivation? Yep, I have that. That would require a ton of sitting time on my part and that I just can't do with the children I have running rampant along the house!

But I did change one thing around. I've seen that the "cool" thing to do is to no longer have my name advertised on my layout but to have this cute little logo-thingy on the top left corner of the layout so that you can see the layouts are from me and that you can click on the little box and be sent to this blog.

So, here's the new code to add my layouts. Don't worry!! THE OLD CODE STILL WORKS!

Amanda's Fall Collection kit!

I have "fall"en in love with Amanda's Fall Collection Kit. A little while ago, Amanda from KevinandAmanda.com posted this blog post about the new fall colors of clothing that she'll be wearing. I was in love with the color combinations! Especially since I've previously never cared for grey or the violet red color amongst the large spectrum of colors on the color wheel. But the thought of having a warm pinkish color for fall was genius and I knew I would forever look at that color on clothing and think of Amanda and how she changed my mind on it.

And lucky me--she made a KIT on the wonderful fall colors that have suddenly made my heart patter when placed together. And best of all: It's free! That's right! F.R.E.E.

I LOVE them and have them all. I'm using her fonts all the time for when I print things out for church. Curlz and Comic Sans are sooo yesterday.

How to create your own layouts!

I've received several, and I mean SEVERAL emails on the measurements of my layout and how one could make their own.

Instead of writing the same answer to each of you, I thought it would be fun to make a liitle picture template to show you how I do it.

You do need to have Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, or another artsy-fartsy program where you can set your image size and the amount of pixels per inch.

The photo is clickable so you are welcome to see a larger version of it! I always love to see what you create so don't hesitate to show me your backgrounds!

Hey everyone! My friend Carroll just wrote a comment, asking how to make 3 column templates. I love my 3 column templates, especially with all the gadgets I have littering my blogs! it makes me feel much more organized.

I have the perfect website that'll teach you ANYTHING about blogger. Here's the links for their tutorials on changing your template.

Remember, the template you need to have my layouts is MINIMA, even so, I'll post how to make 3 column layouts in all Blogger Templates.

I am without a camera, thanks to a three year old boy of mine who threw it on our kitchen floor and now it no longer responds when I try to turn it on. So my awesomest friend (yes, awesomest is a word when you're talking about Sara) took all these photos and sent them to me.

You like them?? I LOVE them! And there's so much more to come!

Don't worry, I haven't given up on the digi scrap layouts! This is something new and exciting and I'm really enjoying it.

I am in love with this kit! Rachel from Steel City Scraps and Christie of Christie Lemmon Designs came together to make this adorable collaboration kit called, "In Dreams". This kit was gorgeous!!! I'm back! Yesterday I FINALLY got my power adapter! I guess waiting 14 days is something I get for buying from Hong Kong! But my laptop's back and working and I'm a happy camper!

The holidays were awesome and I thank everyone for their kind comments and even for those of you who sent me Christmas cards! How thoughtful!

Christmas was great! My hubby got me plane tickets so I can go see my best friend in Michigan! Wahooo! I've been wanting to go visit her for well over a year now!

And the New Year's wasn't anything special. My husband totally crashed on the couch at 11:30, after I asked him if he wanted to watch the ball drop with me. Oh well, we've spent 6 New Years together and plan on spending decades more together.

But I have a problem. On the 23rd, my laptop's power cord went out. It just suddenly died! So I ordered one online and have been waiting forever to get it.

I have three kits I want to get playing with but I can't because I don't have the means to on my desktop!! Grrrr. I've SOO been having laptop withdrawals.

So I apologize. I was hoping to start the first of the month with some awesome layouts but...I guess it'll have to wait.

Happy New Years to everyone and thanks for your patience!!

Ok, I was totally eyeing this kit before Pam contacted me! I was told by Sarah that she would be contacting me and so I went to look at her stuff and saw this kit, "Sweet Treats" and thought, "Ooooh, I hope she has me play around with THAT kit!"

It's a FUN kit! I love the colors, they do remind me of Christmas candy, the kinds that come in a tall tin and are super hard and it seems like all grandma's have them sitting out during the holidays. You know what I'm talking about? I love that candy! It brings so many memories with each piece

Thanks to LouCee's Creations, she has TWO Christmas kits! I've downloaded her "A Traditional Christmas" kit. I think it's darling! It really does depict the traditional feel of Christmas and I really like that.

LouCee's blog is totally awesome. She has the NEATEST stuff on there. If you don't want to pick up the kit (which is FREE thank-you-very-much), you have to at least visit her site and see the neat crafts that she does, the things you can download to make the same craft, her beautiful kits, and her tutorials. She is amazingly talented. I might digital scrapbook but you will never find me with any talent to regular scrapbook (isn't that weird? But it's totally true, I have no talent in that department!)

First you'll be seeing layouts and headers from Skrapper Digitals fabulous work. I'll be working with her "Jan" kit and her brand-spankin' new kit called "Thankful". They both are stunning kits.

Next, you'll be seeing a few layouts and headers made from Digi Designs by Nicole. She has loads of freebies! You have to go to her site! I have an idea of what kits to use. So far I have decided on these:

How to add my headers.

Click on the header of your choice.

It should open it up on another page. Then save it (right click and click "Save Picture As..." into a location where it can be easily found).

Go onto your blog and on the top right you'll see the word "Customized" it'll only show up if you are signed in.

Then in that large grey box you'll see lots of smaller boxes, the top smaller box should have the name of your blog with "(header)" next to it. On the bottom right of that box is the word "Edit".

Click on it. A small screen should pop up.

Before uploading the picture from your computer, click "Shrink to fit" and "Behind title and description". Then upload and click the "Save" button on the bottom right on the screen.

The kit is called "Plaid Chicky". I made a layout, header, and post separator with this kit a few posts ago. I had a blast making this! It was a ton of fun! Unfortunately, one of the papers is messed up. It's the yellow one with the white dots, so oh well! I uploaded it all before I found the problem.

There's 18 papers and 36 embellishments! I would be so, so, SO happy if you were to show me what you could do with my kit. That would just make my day.

This kit is only for personal use. No reusing my items for your own kit(etc.) to sell. It's dishonest.

Summer's "Awareness" kit.

Since October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, Summer made a beautiful kit to pay tribute to those not only suffering, or had suffered with breast cancer, but to all those who have suffered or are suffering from any cancer. She writes a beautiful post about it. Please visit her blog and see.

UPDATE: It's been brought to my attention that the header isn't "clickable". I don't know why! I tried removing and re-adding the photo too and it still didn't work.

Now, this is a little tricky. To add this you need to go to Customize and then click on SETTINGS. Click then on the Formatting tab. At the bottom of the page it'll have a box and next to it it'll say "Post Template". Add the code I give you at the bottom and save.

The only problem I have with it, is that it is automatically pasted in your text box everytime time you add a new post. But I can't find another way to make it easier that works. So if you know of something better, I would appreciate it. If not, I'm sorry, but your blog will still look cute!

NOW that you've added this separator, you are not finished. I know, it has to be difficult, huh? Well, lovely blogger adds a solid line around the separator and, you know me, I find those borders to be so ugly! So I found a way to remove it from your post separator.

1. Go to Customize, Edit HTML.

The THIRD little paragraph above:

is this:

2. Now, remove the word "solid".

3. Click Preview to see if it worked! And if it did, save it!

And here's the header! But guess what! A new friend, Tiffany, wrote me and told me how she customized her header font on Paint! I was ecstatic!

Here's what you do:

Copy the header (like you would usually do)

Pull it up on your Paint program

Add text to it, changing the font to your preference (can you add photos to it that way too?? Comment if you tried--I would LOVE to hear from you).

Then save it again (as JPEG, it should already be in that format)

And then upload it as your blog header (remember to click "Instead of Title and Description" and "SHRINK TO FIT")

And Viola!! No more generic blog header font! You have customized it!

Removing those tacky dotted lines!

I've been asked to share how you remove the dotted lines from your blog.

SIMPLE!

Go to Customize
The go to Edit HTML
In the box of jumbled letters and words, scroll until you see the word "dotted" and delete it! I think it's on there three times? I could be wrong.

An easier way is when you get there, click Ctrl+F and it'll pop up a box, asking for the word that you want it to search. Type in "dotted" and it'll bring up one for you, one at a time, highlighted too. You deleted it and click "Find Next" until all the "dotted" words are gone.

Then click PREVIEW to make sure that you did it right and didn't screw up anything! Please don't make the mistake of saving it without previewing it and and having it ruin your blog!

Black and White Layouts

This is an older layout of Summer's and I had completely forgotten that I had it until the other day I was looking at my digi kits and saw this! This is an adorable kit! You'll have to search for it on her blog though to get it as it's not on her front page.

You can't help but love the vintage look she created in this, her "Vintage Oreos" kit. Even the name I love!

The top paper does not come with the kit, I made it.

A new friend, Paula, told me about removing the two lines bordering nearly every one's header.

The thought never occurred to me!

I have removed the dotted lines that I find terribly tacky between posts and sidebar gadgets, but still, the thought of removing the header borders never crossed my mind.

You want the same?

Do this.

Go to Customize
Click Edit HTML towards the top middle-right of your screen.
Scroll down the jumbled mess of words, letters, and symbols until you see this:

Header
-------------------------------------------------------------
*/

Replace the first three groups of words with this:

#header-wrapper { width:660px; margin:0 auto 10px; border:1px $bordercolor; }
#header-inner { background-position: center; margin-$startSide: auto; margin-$endSide: auto;}
#header { margin: 5px; border: 1px $bordercolor; text-align: center; color:$pagetitlecolor;}

Now, click PREVIEW to see if it is what you want. DO NOT CLICK SAVE UNTIL YOU ARE SURE THAT THE HEADER LINES ARE REMOVED. You don't want to mess everything up and have to start all over again.

If you noticed, I just deleted the word "solid" out of the first and third little paragraphs. So you can do that too.

So today I was on the blog and saw that Summer had posted a new kit! Now, it's like Christmas for me when that happens. I stop all that I'm doing and upload the kit as if it's going to be gone in two minutes.

Now are you ready for this??? It's a HEADER! I got the idea from Hippo Scraps. She deserves ALL the credit for my inspiration. Remember, she also makes custom layouts!!

How to put it on my blog. Click on the picture and save it to your computer.

Go into Customize. And in the little gray box that has your header name, on the bottom right you will see the word Edit. Click on that. It should pull up a smaller screen and BEFORE UPLOADING THE PHOTO, click on "Behind title and description" and "Shrink to fit". If you don't shrink to fit, it will be HUGE. Then upload photo from computer and click save.

Making Headers

Though the poll to the right still has a few days left on it, it looks like I'm going to be making some blog headers!

The question is, how do I make them? That sounds wrong. I KNOW how to make them, but how do I give them to you?

I wanted to make them where you can downwload it insert your own photos and text. But the only way I know how you can do that, is through photoshop. And if you are like I was, you may either have photoshop and it never gets touched because it's the least user friendly program for mankind, or you are like I am now and feel pretty confident in it and can personalize them with ease.

My question is this: are there other programs that are out there, for cheap (if not FREE) for people to upload my headers, and add photos where needed and also add text to personalize it? Or can you only do that with photoshop?

Am I making any sense?

I wanna make these headers! But I want them to be perfect for you too!

The kit I used to make these layouts, called "Crayon Box" is absolutely adorable. I was instantly reminded of first grade and a box I was given of eight large crayons inside. I loved those crayons.

MAKE MY LAYOUTS FIT FULL SCREEN!

I know I've heard from several about how my layouts do not fit those with computer screens larger than 17". Well, for a while now I figured that I could have a way to fix that, but it wasn't until today with the help of a new friend that my idea was right!

(In order to make my layout fit full screen, you need a Photobucket account. It's free.)

Click on the layout that you want and when it shows up full screen on the next page, SAVE IT to your computer.

Then, go to your Photobucket account and upload the layout under "Reduce to:" click the drop down and select "1 megabyte file size"

Then copy the DIRECT LINK it gives you and add it to your HTML code. Viola, you have a full screened layout. I advise that if you have the smaller screens (like I do, which is why I make them that way) the full screen layout will be super huge!!

I know some of you are saying, "Allison, why don't you do it for us?"

Well, you can do it. It's not that hard. And besides, I already get messages by the time my month is up that I'm nearing the end of my uploading limit for my account. I can't make more layouts if I'm using up all my bandwidth uploading my layout twice. Sorry! I hope you understand.
